This beautiful Trustees of Reservations property includes Pine Hole Bog, a true northern bog and one of the few quaking bogs in the area. We’ll look for wild calla, cranberries, swamp azalea and a number of other typical bog plants along the bog boardwalk. We’ll also ascend Holt Hill (420’), the highest Hill in Essex County for a look at the Boston skyline. The walk will focus on plant ID as well as interesting natural history. Bring a bag lunch and a hand lens if you have one.
