FREE Monthly Lunch & Learn Series:

MS4 General Permit: Intersection with Wetlands Protection Act Jurisdiction and Requirements

The MS4 Permit and Wetlands Protection Act: Different Rules for Managing Stormwater
We will describe how MS4 and Wetlands Protection Act jurisdictions overlap and how MS4 stormwater requirements differ from the WPA Stormwater Management Standards. The differences between the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) general permit – which MS4 Towns must adopt by July 1, 2020 – and the MA Stormwater Standards will be explained. Speakers will also discuss the resources and contacts available to communities subject to the MS4 GP requirements and how Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection is working on consistency for both sets of stormwater rules.

Our Presenters:

Fred Civian, MassDEP Stormwater Coordinator

Alice Smith, Environmental Analyst, MassDEP Wetlands and Waterways Program
