Conservation Restriction Monitoring Workshop

 

Description:

This class will cover the basics of monitoring Conservation Restrictions including general philosophy, fieldwork, landowner relations, and how to document potential violations. This is a great class if you are looking to start managing your Conservation Restrictions or if you are looking for a general refresher.  An emphasis will be made to provide practical examples to help you get you CR stewardship program off the ground.

There will be short field component to the class so attendees should plan to wear comfortable shoes and appropriate insect repellant.

 

Instructor: 

Nick Rossi is a Land Protection Specialist for Mass Audubon, and works on protecting new conservation land across Eastern Massachusetts.  Formerly, he was responsible for coordinating Mass Audubon’s CR stewardship program across the state of MA from 2015-early 2019.  Before starting at Mass Audubon, Nick worked as a CR steward for the MA Dept. of Conservation and Recreation and volunteered for the Greater Worcester Land Trust.  He holds a M.S in Environmental Science and a B.A in Geography, both from Clark University.   He is currently based out of Mass Audubon’s Headquarters in Lincoln, MA.
