An Overview of the Massachusetts Vulnerability Preparedness Program with a Case Study.

Wednesday, December 11th at 12 Noon

Interested in learning how the Commonwealth’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) program can help your community? Join us as we learn what the role of a Conservation Commission and/or agent can be in the process of both MVP planning grants and action grants. Explore how you nature-based solutions have helped inland and coastal communities become more resilient to climate change. 


Meet Our Speakers:
Sara Burns is a Water Resource Scientist at The Nature Conservancy. She has a Masters of Environmental Science from Indiana University, with a focus on aquatic ecology. Sara can be reached at sara.burns@tnc.org or (617) 532-8342.

Stefanie Covino
is the Conservation Planner for the City of Worcester and has a Masters of Environmental Science and Policy from Clark University. She is on the board of the Massachusetts Watershed Coalition is trained as a Keystone Cooperator. She previously worked with Mass Audubon’s Shaping the Future of Your Community Program and her interests include natural resource protection, community engagement, and smart growth.
