PARTICIPATE

Learn, ask, understand, network, enjoy the day, and bring home information you can use. Connect with people from across New England working to protect wetlands and open space. Be part of the conservation community at the largest annual environmental conference of its kind in New England!

WORKSHOPS
Choose your workshop in each of the sessions. There are 23 workshops to choose from. Get updates and expert insights on laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and technologies that are important for natural resource protection. There is important information for new and experienced commissioners, environmental consultants, attorneys, concerned conservationists, and state officials. Learn from the experts while networking with your peers!

FUNDAMENTALS UNITS
Choose a morning and/or afternoon Fundamentals for Conservation Commissioners training unit. Get closer to completing, or complete, the units you need for a certificate!

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE AWARDS AT OPENING SESSION
Attend the opening session. Help honor the recipients of this year's prestigious Environmental Service Awards.

KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT OPENING SESSION
photoThe keynote address will be given by Ken Kimmell, President of the Union of Concerned Scientists, with more than 30 years of experience in government, environmental policy, and advocacy. He is a national advocate for clean energy and transportation policies, and former MassDEP Commissioner. Mr. Kimmell will discuss challenges to federal climate and science-based programs, initiatives in regional cap-and-trade greenhouse gas emissions program for the transportation sector, climate resiliency and sea level rise, and the need for local environmental involvement. Be sure to join us for an interesting and thought-provoking speech!

EXHIBIT HALL
Visit more than 40 exhibits! Speak with the exhibitors, experts in many fields, and learn about the latest in science and technology offerings. Bring home some goodies.

PUBLICATIONS
Browse the MACC book tables. Bring home books on hikes in New England; winter botany; tree, shrub, lichen, or bird identification; wetlands identification; Walden Warming; or our popular Rite-in-the-Rain notebooks.

POSTER SESSION
Visit the Second Annual Student Poster Session. Meet the newest generation of conservationists and speak with them about the projects they are featuring at the session. This year we have three cash prizes for the best posters! (Thank you Epsilon).

SILENT AUCTION
Bid on awesome items (from rock climbing events, gift cards, MACC training, sporting event tickets and more)! The Silent Auction will be open during the day for bidding, and winners will be announced during the President's Reception at the end of the day.

Remember early registration closes on Wednesday, February 28th at 5 PM.  Walk-in registrations are welcome the day of the conference with a $20.00 increase on all attendance rates.

REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
MACC may cancel AEC 2018 for inclement weather if the location of the conference, The College of the Holy Cross, is closed on March 3, 2018, due to inclement weather or if the Governor of Massachusetts has instructed people not to travel on the roads on March 3, 2018, due to inclement weather and road conditions.

Notice of cancellation will be on MACC's voice mail message, website and emailed to email addresses provided with registration.

If AEC is cancelled due to inclement weather, MACC will issue refunds minus a $20 processing fee per registration.
